Aging with Chinese Medicine + Facial Rejuvenation

The TCM approach to facial rejuvenation is my favorite of all methods available. These techniques are safe, non-invasive, non-toxic, have little-no side effects, and require no recovery time in comparison to chemical peels, face lifts, and injections.

TCM theory behind aging skin centers around two things. Vital substances of qi (pronounced chee) and blood naturally decrease with age. When qi and blood are abundant and move smoothly, the skin will be nourished and look radiant. Radiant skin and eyes is a sign of good shen, spirit, in Chinese medicine. When qi and blood diminish with age, priority for distribution of these vital substances goes to the internal organs, leaving the skin undernourished. The TCM modalities used for facial rejuvenation are focused on increasing circulation of qi and blood to the face which:

  • Creates naturally bright and radiant skin
  • Increases collagen production
  • Reduces larger wrinkles and eliminates fine lines
  • Correct hyperpigmentation and sun-damage
  • Tightens skin pores
  • Resufraces uneven tones and textures
  • Plump, lift, and tone
  • Balance sebum production to mitigate breakouts
  • Improved sleep, relaxation, and many more health benefits

How does it work? According to cosmetic acupuncture expert, Amanda of Acuregen, needles produce an invisible micro-injury at the cellular level of the skin, which creates a healing response. Known as collagen-induction therapy – this is the way the body heals tissue after the initiation of ‘acute inflammation.’

The studio offers two original & natural anti-ageing treatments that aims to rejuvenate overall complexion and elasticity

Acupuncture Facial

Jade Path Studio’s unique approach to cosmetic acupuncture covers all the essentials of natural facial rejuvenation. Combining modern and traditional modalities, this treatment cleanses and nourishes skin deeply beyond the surface to nourish, hydrate, balance, tone, and tighten.

After steaming and cleansing the skin, the skin is rejuvenated with lymphatic massage, guasha, facial cupping, dermal rolling, acupuncture and LED therapy.

Microneedling Needling Facial

Similar to the acupuncture facial in principle, the microneedling facial is a more advanced facial designed for dramatic collagen induction. Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that is used to treat skin concerns such as scarring, stretchmarks, aging skin and sunspots, via collagen production.

After a steaming and cleansing, rich Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid serums coat the skin to lubricate and penetrate deeply beyond the surface with microneedling.  This facial requires minimal downtime.
